Nile Cruise - Egypt
Map of Egypt

The Nile conjours up different images and thoughts in peoples minds but through history it has been the lifeblood of Egypt and hence at the centre of the history of Egypt.

Most of our cruises start and finish at Luxor and travel up the Nile to Aswan, famous for its high dam, stopping off at Edfu and Kom Obo.  However we have some cruise and stay holidays lasting one week where you can stay at Luxor then join the ship in Aswan and cruise back to Luxor or cruise Luxor to Aswan, stay Aswan and transfer back to Luxor.

From the itinerary and excursions of the cruises we have chosen you can see that you will be able to visit virtually all of the main places at the centre of Egyptian history.

For those wanting more time why not take a 2 week holiday combining a week in a hotel with a one week cruise.  You can also combine a cruise with a stay in Luxor, Cairo, Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh or Aswan

View Sites:  Click Here to view the sites and visit the tombs in virtual reality.

Please Note:  When joining a Nile cruise you are joining a cruise with an international client mix as the cruise will be accepting clients of many nationalities.

(Note: For travel to most countries, a British passport must remain valid for at least 6 months after your scheduled return to the UK)

Nile Cruise Holidays

Direct flights from the UK to Luxor operate on a Monday (from Gatwick, and Manchester) and on a Wednesday (from Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester). Flying time is approx. 5 hours 30 mins.

We also offer departures from Heathrow, every day of the week at 0915hrs, via Cairo, with a return landing time of 2130hrs. This flight offers easy onward connection by domestic flights from Cairo, late afternoon to Luxor and Aswan. Flying time is 50 mins, to Luxor and 70 mins to Aswan.

This departure also gives the option of adding some days in Cairo to visit the Pyramids, Sphinx, Cairo Museum and Arab Souks with, for instance a Saturday departure giving 2 days Cairo before joining a Monday cruise from Luxor for 7 days. The supplement, over the cruise holiday is quite low (in some instances it has been as low as £100 per person). We can prebook your excursions, if you so wish, to make maximum use of your time in Cairo.

Luxor - Egypt
Walking Around the sights of Egypt

Previously the ancient city of Thebes which was at the centre of the of the culture of Upper Egypt, Luxor has now grown into a large town with many hotels, shops and restaurants.

Luxor has often been called the worlds greatest open air museum, as indeed it is and much more.  The number and preservation of the monuments in the Luxor area are unparalleled anywhere in the world that know of.  Actually what most people think of as Luxor is really three different areas, consisting of the city of Luxor on the East side of the Nile, the town of Karnak just north of Luxor and Thebes, which the ancient Egyptians called Waset, which is on the west side of the Nile across from Luxor.

To say that the Luxor area is a major attraction for tourists in Egypt would be an understatement.  It has been a tourist destination since the beginning of tourism.  Even in ancient times, during the late Dynasties of the Greek and Roman periods, the area drew tourists, and has been doing so ever since.  Today Luxor is well equipped to accommodate tourists with many hotels and in general a tourist industry ready and willing to serve the people from many countries that descend on this area of the Nile Valley every year.
